The development of VTrans is a collaborative process that relies on input and active participation from many agencies whose mission influences Statewide and regional transportation plans and investment decisions.

By working closely with its partners, OIPI seeks to align VTrans goals, priorities, and performance measures with those of State transportation agencies, Metropolitan Planning Organizations, local governments, and other organizations that can help to realize the Commonwealth's transportation vision.

The Department of Rail and Public Transportation supports the transportation of people and goods with programs for passenger and freight rail, public transit, carpooling and vanpooling. DRPT's mission is to facilitate and improve the mobility of the citizens of Virginia, promoting the efficient transport of goods and people in a safe, reliable and cost-effective manner.

The Virginia Commercial Space Flight Authority operates the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport, located at NASA Wallops Flight Facility on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
